Our Gatherings
Our
gatherings usually consist of elements like
music, sharing our
stories, prayer, a message or conversation
surrounding the
Bible, communion, etc...We try to create space
for God to move and for
people to participate.
What
a typical Sunday might look like...
We
begin around 10AM. When you enter our space,
you'll notice that the
room is set up in a round. There are small
cafe tables, several
couches, and a bunch of folding chairs. Please
feel free to sit
wherever you want. There is coffee, hot tea,
and usually some bagels or
a bite to eat as you enter on your left. We do
have a kids ministry
for ages infant-grade 2 if your child would
like to participate, but
they are also welcome to stay in with you.
Children are a part of our
life. You won't get people staring at you if
they make noise. Though
you may get a few laughs. We love children.
If we are beginning with a
few songs, we'll usually keep the kids in with
us and dismiss them
after a little bit of singing. Once the kids
are dismissed we'll
usually either take communion together or begin
with our message for the
day. Messages are given by our pastor or from
one of the members of
Praxis. They tend to be more conversational
and there is
usually space
to ask questions or to share what God is saying
to us through His Word.
Sometimes we'll share things that God is doing
in our lives or things
we need prayer on. We might sing another song
or a have a time of
reflection. We close our time with some brief
announcements and people
tend to hang around for a while after the
service.
